2009 CTD

I was just wondering? If anyone knows or has heard anything about the 09 CTD, Have any changes or Improvements been made, in regards to the Emission Issues. Or is this Engine pretty much unchanged from the 07.5 & 08 models....

IIRC, nothing was supposed to change, but I could be wrong. Here is what I found on Dodge's website though.....

Dodge - 2009 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 - Capability - Powertrain

I also see that they are sticking to not changing the body style until after it has been out on the 1500 models for a year.

OK Thxs, I was hoping that with the trouble Quite a few people are having, That Dodge or Cummins would come up with some type of fix..I guess enough people are doing OK with them, that they figure a fix is not needed:humm:

I was talking to the guy at the service desk last time I had mine in the shop, and he told me that supposedly, (that being the operative word here) Dodge will have a permanent fix for the turbo problems sometime in February of '09. If and when I can find anything out, I'll post it up.

The only thing that is changing on the HD Rams are the brakes are bigger. Everything else is the same. The HD's will get a new body change for 2010, and will not look like the 1500.

I wouldn't complain about bigger brakes, but I think they would be better off spending their time and energy getting the bugs out of the emissions system rather than messing with the bodywork. Pretty ain't worth a damn if it spends its time in the shop waiting to be worked on. Just my.02

X2 the whole DPF idea should be done away with, its proven to be nothing but trouble and regen modes are an inconvenience. :booo:
