Default New Dodge owner has qustions.

Hello all, I'm a new cummins owner. I got a 2010 dodge ram mega cab and I just wanted to know what are some of the things that I need to do first in mods. I use to have a 7.3 ford f350 and I'm fairly familiar with diesels. I've seen a ton of vids on delete kits and what not, but I'm not sure on what to do first. Any input would be great. Thanks

Don't do anything performance wise until you do a trans upgrade. Probably not what want to hear, i know . Unless yours is already built and has trans tuning, the factory setup cannot handle much more than stock and will leave you stranded trying to figure out how to fork over $9500 for a built revmax setup.

If your manual and have the G56, do a dual disk south bend or valair setup. Then go to performance mods.

Intake and exhaust wont matter enough to make a difference for the trans. You could do a full delete (dpf, egr, throttle valve ect) with factory power level tuning and be fine. But I honestly saw my mileage decrease after my deletes. I have a 08 6.7L Megacab, was getting 16-18 prior deletes, now I get 12-14 mpg post deletes. I can squeak out 16mpg if i'm real conservative with the skinny peddle.

Ask me how I know...

Thanks for the heads up. I've seen a ton of vids and they look good. I just hate the gas go back into the engine. I want to delete them at least.
