turbos???

got my head gasket replaced head reworked and studded now..was wndering if there is an aftermarket turbo that will work with the stock manifold or is it just best to get the 5.9 manifold and an industrial injection silver bullet 64? anyone else have this turbo on a 6.7 and how do you like it?

I would go at minimum is what i have is a silver 66 runs great. Or a step bigger with good tuning and stock fueling. And yes you will have to run a stock 5.9 3rd gen manifold you will live if don't forget to order a 5.9 oil drain.

thanks ok what is the 5.9 oil drain you mentioned?

If you run a factory 5.9 manifold or a factory replacement. Such as a bd 2 piece or similar. Just buy the turbo drain for a 5.9 as well and it will all fit like a factory job. If not you will have to modify your stock drain. And it will eventually leak. If u need help or pics hollar I will help u

Just my 2cents for the 6.7 cummins i would go no smaller than a 66mm i would stick to a borg warner box unit and keep the manifold flange to a T-4.

Going with a silver 62, or a 66 from II or a BD is still T3 and is restrictive with the bigger displacement on the engine side.

Thanks for the replies. I should also add that I tow with the truck and its already pretty heavy as its a welding rig. I dont if the weight will matter for what size turbo I need? Thanks again

I have a 62/80. Yes it's a tiny turbo. It spools right now! At the top end it does seem to taper off but the way I look at it is I'd rather spend all day driving a truck that spools instantly then drive a laggy pig. think about it... How often are you at 3k rpm? My truck is a tow pig. I also have a laundry list of things that are done to it. Soon I will probably change my setup completely and go for 800rwhp

I tow a 38' 5th wheel with my 66 and I wish I would have went bigger.
My truck pulls the trailer great. It starts pulling hard around 1500 Rpms. I'm running stock fueling with efi. And I wish I would have went to a bigger turbo. Like motor said 66 would be the smallest I would recommend.
