broken rocker arm
 
ok guys I just got my truck back from the shop after getting a new head put in and it has a ticking noise so I took it back to the shop and they are telling me ive got a broken rocker arm and I could need a new cam..... what could cause this ?

I need would to know more about the whole thing. But if they just put a new head on I hope the are eating the cam and rocker arm.

Nope they are saying the cams wore on the fourth cylinder exhaust side and that's what a used the rocker arm to break and 2800 to put a new cam lifters and rocker arms in

Pretty cheap. Unless the tech didnt seat a push rod correctly or didnt correctly lash the valves theres not much as in liability on the shops part. You might ask what lash settings were used and what the torque on the adjuster was. Pretty good judge if they set them or not when the tech rattles the number off or says uhhhhh I cant remember lol And its possible it was always a problem. What oil are you running?
