Pusher intake = less boost than stock!
Hi all,
I just installed a pusher intake system (intake manful and boost tube) and my max boost went from 32 to 27:humm:. Boost is measured on three different gauges (H & S mini, manual boost gauge, and on my Snow Perfomance controller). I put the factory boost tube and intake back on and my boost returns. Any ideas why I would be generating less boost? I think in my head I believe the truck is slower with the pusher intake system but can not really tell. Anyone else seeing similar results? Thoughts on producing the equivalent amount of boost with the pusher intake? Thank you all for looking and offering suggestions. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Thank you for all the views. Is anyone else running the pusher intake? If so, did you also see a decline in the amount of boost? I was actually hoping to gain a little. Thank you, GMB |
That's wierd:humm:

Could be a defective product. I wonder if it may have a leak somewhere along the system?

sounds like a leak to me

Thanks you everyone. I think it was a leak. I am able to get 30 with the new intake on now. I am posting some picks of the intake here in a minute.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I ended up adding a new post under the performance section instead of the general 6.7 room. |
a small reduction would be a good thing... less resistance to flow.
5lbs is a lot-- glad you found the leak. |
Less PSI is less resistance. I lost 5 psi overall boost when I installed my Cam, but the EGT's told the story. 150* reduction at the hottest I recorded. How are your EGT's now compared to before?
