Buying used truck

When buying a used truck from someone what is the main things you look at on the spot before you make a deal or not?

Lookin at 2008 Ram 2500 6.7L

And don't let them warm up the motor before you look at it. Some times a motor issue can be noticed when the motor is running and cold.

i always check the body panel alignment on a truck thats just seems like a really good deal check the door jams for a paint line if its been painted before you dont want someone selling you something that had previously got in an accident and i would definitely check the front end that could be expensive. My personal favorite is look at the brake pedal if its worn alot that means alot of stop and go driving. P.S. when the engine is running remove the oil fill cap and see if its puffing white smoke and set the cap back down without screwing it down if it dances around that means blow by wich is 90% of the time ringsss

Not sure how they are doing now, but the first few years of the 6.7's had EGR, DPF and related turbo issues. Ask about how the regen cycles are going and ask to look in the tubo to see if it looks sooted up.

I would not buy one that did not have those deletes done to it.

ow another thing to look at, if the all the body panels look good may have been a good body guy do the work. Look under the hood at the fender bolts and the hood bolts make sure the paint is not scuffed up on them like they have been taken off before.
