DPF removal instructions?
I have been looking for a good while for step by step instructions on removing the DPF a 6.4..
If anyone has any useful links or pictures, I would really appreciate it. |
Undo bolts. Remove DPF. Install delete pipe. Install tuner. :D
I am swapping one out on a customer truck on monday, I will get pictures. |
:gj: Nice... Already did the truck... Had to torch the bolts on the downpipe since they were crazy frozen... Any penatrating oils or anything that would help out? I used normal grade penatrating oil and it didnt seem to help much.
|
Never had that issue... you ARE trying to take the bolts out, not the nuts off the converter side, right?
|
Yeah. But mainly I had trouble with the last probe towards the end of the truck... Busted the jaw off of my 13mm
|
Yeah, they generally don't come out all that well.
I get 'em glowing with the gas axe and then splash 'em with cold water. Usually breaks 'em free. |
Soak it in PB blaster overnight.
|
I did it with 500 miles on the truck. they came off with ease

What do you do with the two pressure hoses? Do you need to disconnect them anywhere else? I am about remove dpf and install delete pipe and just wanted to make sure what to do what the pressure hoses. Then program the truck with a H&S. Any help would be great!!

Just zip tie them up out of the way
