hey gunman - I watch nascar to so when I'm goin down the highway like to follow pretty close to other cars and trucks - I'm not tailgating, I'm drafting - I can follow close to a big rig for about 5 miles and see my mpg go up at least 1 mpg - I got a 30 foot tow hauler that weighs 9800 lbs empty - not very heavy for an F350 - but it obviously works it cause my mileage drops to 5 mpg within 10 or 15 miles - Ford is already workin on a new progam for the 08's so maybe that will help us out

I don't have a spartan tuner...yet.
I am running 3.73 gears, on the stock 18" wheels and tires, and if you keep it below 1900rpm, the fuel mileage skyrockets. Sunoco Gold diesel fuel and ford PM-17-A and PM-17-B Cetane booster and anti-gel compounds in the tank too. Almost ALL highway driving. |

WHAT IS A HIGHWAY ??? With 2 million people here, all I see is bumper-to-bumper traffic from 06:30 to 20:30:argh: I leave for work at 04:00 so I only get a little traffic:ok1:BUT my best MPG has been 14.4:ouch:

Wow, I don't know what to tell you, but my truck will generally only go into regen once per tank, and it usually happens shortly after I fill up.
50 to 70 miles seems kind of excessive. I've had it regen twice on one tank before, but I was beating the hell out of it. And I can tell you for certain that my truck doesn't take 35 miles to regen. Do you know anyone with a like unit that you can compare to? I hardly see ANY cars on my way to work. If I leave after a certain time, I get trapped behind a schoolbus or two, but other than that, it's pretty straight goin, about 50-55 mph the whole way. |
so whats the secret or you just blowin smoke up peoples asses
I have an 01 psd and can get 22 mpg and an 08 f350 cc sb 10.2 to 10.8:ouch: never has seen over 11 i'm very interested in your 23 mpg the most i have seen with my own eyes is 18 mpg and that is with upgrades ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- back to driving the 01 more |
I have now 7,100 miles & the best I can do is 14.4 MPG in the city, BUT MOSTLY 12 to 13 MPG !!!:ph:
