6.5 exhaust brake?

Ok, so im gonna swap out my gm-3 turbo and put on a Holset He351ve off of a 2008 6.7l cummins. The only problem is that the turbo has a exhaust brake on it and i want to use it, but i am unsure what will happen when i turn the ebrake on. What i am affraid of is that i might blow a head gasket or something like that. Any advice on the swap will be useful.

no one that i know has used the exhaust brake functions on a 6.5 equipped with a He351 so not much info about it. im sure a set of studs would help this from not happening

If you have a you tube account, it might be worthwhile to contact the guy that has a video of one on there. He should have some info.

Would there be any problems with putting a Banks Sidewinder in the place of a GM-5? I think the Sidewinder is a superior turbo, but it would take some know how no?:humm:

are you talking about the non wategated turbo off 80's 6.2?

I'm assuming it would be non wastegated, I was looking a purchasing just the turbo and parts I need from an old kit that a dealer has on the back shelf. But there shouldn't be any reason why you couldn't externally wastegate it.

im not sure if it is superior to the gm5 but yeah you would have to put a exterior wastegate cause those old turbos were used for old 6.2s with less fuel being injected and less boost.
