6.5 heads
Does anyone know or have tried either double stacking head gaskets or de-stroking a 6.5 to run more boost. I've done it before with small blocks to run turbos and stuff but I dont really know much about the 6.5s and was thinkin about it when I rebuild mine

well i dont think u can double stack head gaskets i dont think that would work out to well
there may be thicker gaskets available im not sure though |
thats more of a cheater way to lose compression. if you run too much boost and too thick of gasket you have the risk of blowing the headgasket

Ya I know its the cheater way but it was just a though. How about destroking a 6.5, anyone heard of that? Or even if you could stroke one by using a different crank like a 400 crank in a 350 sbc.only reason I'm asking is because I kinda want something different than the normal.

If you want to know what you can or can't do to a 6.5td talk to Bill Heath at heathdiesel.com He has at least 20 6.5td and some run as high as 35psi boost
I am currently running 15 psi boost with no mods and no problems |
You can't stroke or destroke a 6.5 with out offset grinding a crank. The 6.2 and 6.5 share the same stroke. You don't wan't to lower compression because it moves the top of the piston further from the pre chamber and hurts its ability to function properly.

Alright then, I was just curious because I've done it with other motors but never a diesel. thanks to everyone for their imput

gm does make different thicknessof headgaskets
