Smokes white on driver side
 

Hey I just picked up a M1008 with the 6.2 and the truck runs great. Starts right up but smokes white out of the driver side tailpipe. It smells like diesel so i dont think its rings, I think its a stuck injector. The smoke might clear up alittle as the truck is run but it still smokes. Any ideas?

Loosen each injector line, just enough to make the engine miss. As soon as it quits smoking, you found the sticky injector. I'd have em all rebuilt as soon as practical so your not chancing flooding the engine with diesel.

I would say you have a bad injector on the one side. And I would do the same test as above and get them rebuilt.

better rebuild them or else your going to have a hole in your piston

Loosened the injector lines today and #3 is the culpret and maybe #7 too. Is there anything I can do to maybe free the injector up so its not stuck? Can I pull it out and soak em in something?

I would not try to fix it I would have them rebuilt. If A injector fails it would get expensive quick and with the amount you would probably drive the truck they would last forever.

Put 2 quarts of ATF in the tank and the smoke is clearing up. Only smokes on start up then it clears up. Just got tags today and drove it to the gas station and filled up and put another quart of ATF and some Diesel Cleen. Oh and I also found out it has a death wobble :scare2:. Steering stableizer will be here next week.

Atf will loosen them up I would say you still have one laying down but if it works run it. Death wobble thats no fun.

use two cycle oil instead of atf. less detergents
