Some upgrades to have little more power is putting on your truck a better air flow. You can use the 90's late model air filter housing with the round type air filter and adding a 4 inch exaust system... Don't try boosting your turbo to get more psi at the engine it will fail.

You can add a intercooler to keep your engine temp as low as possible because the 6.5 is allergic to heat.

I'm a noob in this forum and my home language is french... so please if something is wrong with my comments or something I write isn't understandable I'd be happy to be corrected! :c:

If you are looking to upgrade turbo, get an ATT and reflash. Bigger exhaust if you don't already

so im hoping somebody might have some good insight on the holset hx series turbos. a guy I know had a first gen cummins and wrecked it then bought a second gen cummins and he said as a performance upgrade he took the non wastegated hx 35 turbo off the fist gen and put it on the second gen in place of a waste gated hx 35 so my question is that would his waste gated turbo be good for my 6.5 and is he full of shit thinking that non waste gate turbo is gonna be better for him. .... I seen him leave with that thing and it was smoking like a train so im guessing hes making less boost now lol:yeah:

Old thread but anyway, All 6.5 turbos from pickups and Suburbans (not vans) will interchange. The vans had a center mount turbo. There is a negligible (if any at all) difference between all the GMx turbos. Better turbos are the ATT, Holsets, etc.
