93 chevy 6.5turbo

Its a mechanical ip. I am wanting to put a hx 35 really soon.. I have shearched the forum looking for other peoples builds but i cant find many.. Does anyone have a build or numbers from a swap like that?

Not much to post really, the hx35 with a T3 flange is a bolt on item, but you would have to fabricate your own down pipe manifold for the turbo. turbine end plates are available bare and fitting/welding on the flange'd 90 is the tricky part.
Modifying the upper intake is not too tough for the swap either.

The HX35 wastegate is also pressure operated I believe vs your mechanical wastegate.

You may need/want to turn up the fuel also.

Most reports say that the hx40 is a better fit for the 6.5 though-it is offered in a T3 and T4 flange-T3 is what you want for ease of installation.

So how big of a difference does the hx35 make.? Egts? Hp? Intercooler or not?.. I heard the hx 40 was too big for the 6.5l

I have a turbo master and my pump has been turned up.... I put in arp studs and new head gaskets about 10,000 miles ago. Why does The intake have to be modifyed?

The hx35 has a different size outlet and dimensions, although I could have that confused with the ATT?

The difference is that you can still make boost in the higher rpm's and have lower EGT's and IAT's with less exhaust restriction from what I have read, haven't made the switch yet myself.

Another consideration with HX35 is to get the correct one, I don't work HX's I'm a ATT guy myself but one of the HX's has little performance over the GM, the HX 40 supposed to be a good fit for the 6.5 but not without some work to make it fit. Post 54 page 4 a HX35 guy who did install on not as impressed with HX 35 as he thought the would be read here http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/sho...-and-injectors

War wagon on TTS is running a mechanical IP & ATT which is virtually a remove & replace installation is very pleased with his setup maxxTORQUE article on the A Team Turbo

You may want to swing by there and pick his noggin

So i need an adapter for the exhaust side of the turbo.. I thought the flanges were the same size? Are there any videos of trucks that have this swap? Dyno sheets?

The manifold flange is the same if it is a T3,but the dump to the downpipe requires some fab work.
