Best mileage tune with sct
Hey folks, new to forum. First post. Just got an egr delete done and an sct tuner on my work truck. What tune seems to give you all the best mpg with this tuner? Don't have gauges, so I can't keep track of eg temps but if I keep my foot out of it I should be fine right? Truck weighs between 8 and 9000 pounds with service body, rack and tools i would imagine. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I get the best milage with Erics Extreme Race, probably due to the way it locks the converter. The main thing is going easy on the go pedal, and keep the speed down. Going over 65 MPGs start dropping.

I will look into those. I would really like to be getting 13 or 13.5. Was getting 11 ish stock.... My biggest problem is that I go zero to 55 about every 5 miles in and out of fields and such. Hardly ever just straight steady highway miles.

I run eric@innovative's tunes. I get the best milage with extreme race but i run extreme street as a daily driver and get 16mpg around town and im pretty heavy on the pedal usually
|
I always ran the Extreme Race :tu:

I get about 16mpg for the most part, When I was really trying to be good on a long trip I got better than 20. But its the being good part I have a hard time with, my wife says my truck has 2 speeds.......stop and go. |

I don't know for sure when the last dealer flash would have been. Had the egr cooler replaced under warranty at about 98000 miles I believe. I would imagine it would have been done then. That was maybe a year ago? I'm at 129000 mi now and and just had the delete done last week.

I have been getting 15.5-16mpg all stock. I recently went with Innovative Diesel's extreme street tune and I am expecting at least 2 more mpg out of it.(thats after the new wears off. haha!)

The tunes that will yield the best MPG are gonna be Xstreet or Xrace by eric, SRL by matt, Or the looney by vivian if you can stay outta the go pedal, but seeing as how its a work truck i don't suppose you'll be doing much hot rodding
|
For your truck and your style of driving and how it's getting used, I think you'll be extremely happy with a standard street tune. The take off is far improved and I think personally for someone who accelerates from 0 to whatever a lot this would be a great tune.

Thanks all. After much reading I believe I will get a street tune from Eric for regular driving, and use the 50 horse tune I have for towing. Gotta make this truck last as a work truck for another two years or so before I can get a 6.7 :-)
|
Tell Eric you want a street tune and his max towing tune. That tune is awesome.

E350, huh? That may turn out to be an apples and oranges case. If I am not mistaken, the vans don't have the intercooler. I don't know what this means for tune writers, but isn't that why the van is rated at 450lb/ft and the trucks are rated at 550lb/ft?
