Vivian makes the looney tune.

vivian@quicktricksautomotiveperformance.com

I've used her tunes in the past and actually use her street tune as a daily driver. I also use Eric @ Innovative Diesel, and he is actually who I bought my tuner through. Both have been very helpful. I'd also like to try some of Dougs tunes from GoGo and Matt from Gearhead.

Is the looney tune really that good?

Mdub707 02-02-2011 10:16 AM

I liked it for daily driving. My extreme race/street tunes from Innovative were faster, but the looney was easier for daily driving. My buddy had an 05 with a looney tune and some Innovative tunes. He said his looney tune was faster in his truck. His tunes were pretty old though, like more than 5 years old now. I think they've changed some since then. My Innovative tunes were definitely more powerful/faster. The shifting was better for going fast, but the Looney I had (which wasn't a standard looney and some "changes") just didn't shift like the Innovative. This is all personal preference though. Some guys like shifting that is rock solid, some like it more smooth... I don't think you can go wrong with any of the tuners I mentioned in my last post. Vivian has been a pleasure to work with, as has Eric.

I use tunes from eric at innovate. I use extreme steet as daily driver, nice smooth shift but still fast and the extreme race really bangs gears it grabs good but its just alittle much for a daily driver. I'd like to try looney tunes or river city tho

also if i buy a sct sf3 or x3 can i download tunes from any web sites or what?

Mdub707 02-03-2011 08:37 AM

You can't just download tunes, you have to buy them from the tuners, but yes you can get them from anyone at any time. If you choose to buy a tuner from Eric, you get your tunes with the tuner, but you can always email Vivian and buy a tune from her to try out. They email the tunes, you plug your SCT into the computer and load the tunes on. They will hold up to 3 tunes at a time. But to asnwer your question you can use anyones tunes at any time you feel, just need to contact them and have them build you a tune.

The SF3 comes with pre loaded tunes on it from SCT, They're not too bad, and you can put 3 custom tunes on it. The X3 only comes with the option to put 3 tunes on it. I DD vivians looney Tune, it took her a couple tries to dial it in as i have a 6spd with a strategy she hadn't written a tune for. But now it seems to be running great. I know matt from gearhead makes good tunes as my friend that lives in my town has his SRL and DDs it and love it. I hear good things about erics tunes too. The higher horsepower tunes are gonna be your best dailey drivers as they yeild more MPG(if you can stay outta the skinny pedal) and whenever some azzhat in a honda pisses you off you can throw it to the floor and hold on as you embarrass him in a 8K pound truck :c:
