Next IS headstuds and EGR delete!

A coolant filter is a good idea, what about gauges? You don't have gauges yet? That would be a pretty important mod to have on there! Also a direct shift solenoid is a good cheap investment. You can get it from suncoast, or Doug @ GoGo can custom make them (I'd get the GoGo one personally).

Do headtuds an egr delete a lift pump. Then you can get into the high performance HPOPs and injectors. And if I remember right you can buy an 03 vgt turbo and pedestal and thats considered a stage 1 turbo upgrade for 6 liters

Mdub707 09-03-2010 04:33 PM

You can buy an 03 turbo and mount it on the pedestal you have, but you can only use 2 bolts, FYI. Saves you the trouble of having to purchase a pedestal. Stage 1's are usually around a 62mm if I remember right, and stock is what a 57ish?

The solenoid can be read about here: http://store.gogodiesel.com/index.ph...29omim03epp0f5

Again, a coolant filter is a really good idea. The blocks on the 6.0 are sand cast from the factory and over time those sand particles break loose and cycle through the coolant system, eventually clogging your oil cooler, which is what leads to things like blown EGR coolers and failed headgaskets. It's not expensive either at $119 or so.

To add to that, since you already have an oil temp gauge, and water temp gauge will be nice because you can monitor the difference's in temps. Your oil and coolant should never exceed 15 degrees apart. If it does, it's the early warning signs of a clogged oil cooler and leads to the issues I just mentioned above.

IMO, an aftermarket HPOP is a waste of money, UNLESS your stock one has failed, then it just makes sense because they're less than an OEM one. Shawn Ellertons 1000+hp 6.0 is running a stock 05 HPOP. (or was up until very recently).

Yes, there is a very good description of it on there. I think I messed the link up. Try this...

TorqShift Transmission Upgrades : Direct Injection Performance - GoGoDiesel.Com, Your Source For All Things Diesel!

If that doesn't work, just go to their main page, Direct Injection Performance - GoGoDiesel.Com, Your Source For All Things Diesel! and then click on 6.0 powerstroke, then torqshift transmission, then click on the solenoid and you can read all about it.

*EDIT* I just clicked all through it again myself and you're right the info isn't there now. It was there when I posted the first link!? I guess I'd just call Doug and see what he says. Wish I had saved the info now....
