Well im no diesel mech but iv been wrenchin a long time. Iv got a friend whi is a diesel mech and he has put one on so i think im gonna get him too help me get it on. How good are the instructions that come with the kit

MUDSTROKIN' 09-22-2010 01:00 PM

It's a simple install, instructions i've heard a very good. your actually only replacing 3 parts, up pipe, replacing the cooler with a coolant loop off, and the egr valve with a block off plate. take your time and don't drink too much beer during the process and you should be fine. You don't need to be a diesel tech to do this. Hope it works out good for ya! :tu:

Also my first kit I ever installed was a liberator delete and it took me and a buddy ALL day! We had to replace the gaskets for the intake manifold, which they claim are reusable, but on a 100k mile truck, they were not, so cleaning those surfaces took a long time. Just prepare for an entire day. We started at 9am and I left his house at midnight. We also had issues resealing the turbo to the up-pipes in the back. That can be a PITA. A second set of hands will help tremendously. I could do another one a LOT faster now, but the first time was rough.

i think i have a leak in the plumbing for my turbo or something cause it is no way near as peppy while taking off and i can hear a hissing noise in the cab ... the problem is im not really sure where to start looking
