I'm using an AFE PRO DRY 7, DROP-IN & it's reuseable:humm: It only cost like $57:tu:

i have S&B on all my stuff, love it so far, everyone does say that the stock one is good up to 500 horse, but for peace of mind i put on aftermarket anyways, thats just me though :c:

Peace of mind? You mean the stock filter that holds 1400+ grams of dust/dirt over the 200+ grams the S&B holds isn't peace of mind? Peace of mind that you will be doing MORE maintenance and cleaning of the aftermarket filter?

The stocker will flow more air in the long run over ANY aftermarket kit out there.

1. my truck is strictly highway

2. i don't mind spending my extra time cleaning the filter, 15 minutes of my time is worth the thousands a new motor would be if i did not clean it

and 3. it does give me peace of mind knowing everytime i go on a long trip for work, which is quite often, my air filter is fresh and clean. :c:

Filters generally speaking, filter better the dirtier they get. Flow, not so much. But the longer you can run them and still maintain required flow, the better.

That's why oil filters have a bypass valve - to maintain flow, regardless. Also why anything with big air demand and a descent intake/air filter system like a diesel pickup uses a filter minder on the air intake - so you can run it as long as possible before changing.

Use a fuel pressure gauge to help with fuel filter intervals as well. Saves money on filter replacements and better for the engine to run it longer anyway.

Trash cans around service garages and lube joints are full of perfectly good filters.

A local guy said his truck seemed to run better with a stock intake over a S&B. Spend you money on other mods and leave the stock intake on.

My truck ran a little better with the S&B, but its hardly noticable. It does make the truck sound better though. lol

i bought a wix intake unit, it just turns the filter into a panel filter which is a heck of a lot easier to change and cheaper then buying the OEM replacement filters, plus the "cold air" nose is in a perfect spot out the grill stock IMO

can u send me some more info on that wix set up, im interested in it and wanna see that set up
