Diablosport Predator Custom Tunes??
Is anyone running any predator custom tunes? There basic stuff looks to be ok but I was wondering about anyone knows anything about there custom stuff.
Id stay away from the Predator with the 6.0 they are well known for blowing head gaskits.
I remember a rep for predator joined one of the PS forums a little while back talking about trying to get them to do custom tuning. I just dont think they have the software or programming for it.
If it was any good, there would be guys using it. I don't know anyone using it. I'd stick with the tunes from the well known SCT tuners. I've often heard of the Diablos called as the "pukinators". Meaning, puking coolant... |
I was going to ask how the Predator was. When I bought my truck after I signed everything they handed over the Diablosport Predator. Just from all of the stuff I read about them tells me not to use it though. I can't stand it stock(power/ mpg), but I also don't have enough money to get the SCT that I want.:argh:. I like the power/mpg it has with it, but I really don't want to use it.

Put the Diablo on ebay or Craigslist. Sell it for whatever you can get. Take the money and buy a used SCT X-cal 2 on one of the forums, they go for around $150 now. Then a custom tune can be had for anywhere from $25-$80. Just buy tunes as you need/want.
Oh wow. That is all they are going for now!! They are about $500 on all the sites yet. I did put the diablo on ebay already and no bites. So the SCT X-cal 2 is the best or the one to get? :humm:
The X-cal2 is the older version, it will still hold the same tunes though. The new one online is probably the X3. There is also an SF3 which holds 3 custom tunes and 3 canned tunes. I was just trying to give you a cheap way to get into the tunes you want.
Oh ic. Thank you. Oh and by the way the one I was talking about is the SCT livewire. Is this good too or am I better off with just the flash scanner?:humm:
The livewire is like the Edge attitude monitor. It's tuning and a gauge pod in one. Those wont include custom tunes. If you're buying new, get it directly from one of the good 6.0 tuners, as they will give you free tunes with the programmer.
If trying to get as cheap as possible, do what I said, find a used x-cal2 and just buy some tunes one at a time, or do a bundle if a tuner offers it. It's the same tunes, just how new or flashy the programmer is, that's all. |
Ok. That is all I was wondering. Then I really don't need the livewire cause I have the gauges already. You actually answered my next question too. If they support the same tunes or not since it is an older model. That would be perfect then!:jump: I'll have to start looking around for that sct x-cal2 then.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- I guess buying used I have heard to watch how many unlocks it has left on it? Is there anything else I should watch out for? |
