Boy this is going to be good.....

I'm going to be using the GOGO Diesel manifold myself when I swap my oil cooler. I prefer the removal of the coolant channel and routing it directly back to the bottle. Since there no clamps for the hose there shouldn't ever be a leak issue. IF you need to run the EGR valve for a visual inspection you can have your EGR valve in place and not worry about operation. Cost is worth the extras to me.

I feel that all the kits available are quality kits just some have more thought put into the design. Some will let their pocketbook decide, others will decide based upon an educated decision.

:nice:
Gogo's kit is probably the best one out there.

Thanks guys hopefully we get alot of info on this.. wat yall think bout installing myself or goin to a mechanic
:humm:

What past experience do you have turning wrenches? I'm going to swap my oil cooler and manifold soon.

Mikaela@DieselNut 01-25-2010 11:26 AM

For those of you who do not want to DELETE your kit, Bulletproof Diesel has an outstanding upgraded cooler kit that includes Egr Cooler, Oil cooler, and all gaskets. We recently added them to our vendor list and have had a great response to them. If anyone wants some more info just shoot me a PM.

So to clears things up...which of the 2 is the best to use?

04redstroker 01-25-2010 07:07 PM

If your short on cash, you can always just go get a couple freeze plugs and weld the cooler up. That way no exhaust enters, its still there for emissions (if they dug that deep), and even if its leaking it cant go anywhere. Not the best way to fix it but it works. I might go with the gogo stage one intake when i do studs, and other goodies.

GOGO Diesel will be getting my order real soon!!

Mdub707 01-26-2010 12:11 AM

There's a million ways to do this, and a million different "kits" to accomodate every way. I think the River City Diesel is a nice inexpensive setup. I think FCDP has a very nice setup, but you cant return to stock unless you buy a new intake manifold (which is still OK for some people), and GOGO's setup is pretty trick too, but a lot of $$$.

I will probably either make my own or go with the RCD one myself, but it's all preference. Each has their plus' and negatives.

i do like there stage 1 kit... so clean and simple. but cant go wrong with the cheaper route.. lol

BLACK_06POWERSTROKE 02-03-2010 12:33 PM

im crossed between RCD's kit and GOGO's:argh:

MacbooknMyTruck 02-05-2010 09:02 PM

I went with the RCD kit, I'm gonna see how it works out :rocking: Brent at RCD is running one in his truck and he pushes 800-900hp i think!

riddick01 02-14-2010 08:30 PM

i am having a guy custom up mine with a bypass for the gases so they just blow out but with the flip of a switch i can turn the egr on when i have to do emissions testing. its an expensive setup but at the same time i can go to the dealer to get some work done and bc the egr and cooler are still there and operating they will work on it without throwin a hissy fit

Roger16 02-19-2010 01:05 PM

I am still happy with my Sinister EGR delete from mkmcustoms.com the instructions were great and can't beat the $300 price tag.

ATX6132 02-19-2010 01:41 PM

i agree i broke it down to gettin that 2 oclock is when i usually get things at my door step 19 more mins!! i cant wait to get this rollin

Pigg 03-04-2010 07:12 AM

Mdub707 03-04-2010 01:39 PM

They say the intake gaskets are reusable, and on most trucks they probably are. I did an 04 with 100k miles on it, and they were NOT reusable, but we had planned ahead and got the gaskets anyways.

The GOGO kits are nice. There are tons of kits out there. I personally think RCD (River City Diesel) has the best bang for the buck. They sell their kits for $300 shipped all day long on ebay and you can even make an offer and get them lower than that...

Pigg 03-04-2010 06:58 PM

yall seem to know alot about all this and i appreciate the advice. I was wondering if i should get GOGO's kit but the 425 one is it worth the money even if its not the 1200 stage one kit? Do i need to get head studs? and do i need new intake gaskets my truck does have 174000 miles on it. and if i get all this done is it a cab on procedure cause i cant affored a cab off one.

Mdub707 03-04-2010 09:30 PM

I answered your question in the other thread.

Jared @ RiceFamilyFarmINC 03-19-2010 11:13 PM

MKM said that an 03 shouldn't throw a code, did yours? What was the before/after like? $300 and no codes sound good to me :tu:

I just did the Liberator kit on my '05 this week. I went ahead and purchased a new set of gaskets to go with it. Pretty straight forward install.

What did you think of the liberator? I thought the one I installed was a bit expensive for what you get. Also I didn't care for the coolant return line setup how it can move up and down inside the intake manifold, seems like it would wear out the o-ring eventually...? Any thoughts?

First coast diesel performance makes the best EGR delete kit out there.

Have you seen gogo's? Adam's from fcdp is a great kit and i have it on my ex (real easy for a parts swapper like me) but I think dougs at gogo is a little better. His does not use hose clamps. I'm just saying:humm:

Mdub707 05-22-2010 11:47 AM

Neither one of those are reversible either if you were gonna trade your truck in or if you were on a lease or something, just something else to think about. I agree, both are very good kits though.
