06 F350 6.0 new to me

Ok, this has probably been debated to death, but the 6.0 has been around awhile, we know the strong and weak points, Just bought a 06 F350 4X2 6.0 auto. Its got the EGR deleted, but as far as I can tell that's all, no head studs. Still has OEM intake, and no apparent upgrades...I'm looking for longevity and reliability not HP. But sometimes they come together..Looking at S&B CAI, blue spring mod, Fass fuel system, upgrade the hard plastic pipe and elbow. Banjo bolts and line, and a crossover oil line. a 4in exhaust. (no muffler) as long as I don't put a tuner on it or go for 600HP or more, and don't work it too hard, I'm hoping the weak head bolts will hold. I havent been by Ford stealership yet to run their report, I do have he car fax, waiting for the OBD unit to run Forescan should be hear any day..
So, is there anything else I should probably do? With fuel prices I would like fuel saving ideas too.

Save yourself the massive headaches that are headed your way and run away from that thing as fast and as far as you can. Been there, done that. I'll admit the platform is awesome (great lines, interior, and just plain bitchin), but that engine is absolute CRAP!

Kinda figured a Dodge guy would push dropping a Cummings 12V in there and make it a Fumins. As a fellow Texan, you know there is plenty of room in the barn, the old mule eats beside the young stallion. each has its purpose. But since you went there, at least my front end doesn't collapse under the weight of all that power. And the Jeep guys aren't mad at me for grabbing all the 'waggy" front end parts. :alone2:

BTW, its Cummins not Cummings....:w2: Back when I had my Ford Powerstroke, I didnt know that a Cummins could be swapped in, until about a year later. Oh well, live and learn. For me, that would have been the ultimate truck.....with bragging rights. Frankly, I think the Ford SD trucks are the best looking trucks out there, with that "get the hell out of my way look", but im just a bit skeptical now. My neighbor has a 2018 Ford SD dually, and that thing has been in the shop numerous times, and he's not happy. Its a gorgeous truck. When i bought my 06 dodge dually, it took me a while to get used to what I called the "farm tractor sound." The interior is plain jane with lots of plastic, not plush like my former Ford SD. But, it gets the job done very well and, rebuilt trans aside, its been a great truck.....so far.
If you havent already done so, do your research. After-all you'll be the one to have to live with it. Good luck and have fun!

What year is it?

OEM intake is great. but a pain to remove and install.

Stock fuel system is fine. I run a fairly heavy tune on the stock fuel system. Just get a fuel pressure sensor and gauge and if it ever drops below 45 psig, immediately start troubleshooting.

Changing the banjo bolts is not necessary and there is some downside to removing the check valves.
