sct jake brake?

hi so im looking to order my sct 3015 tuner in the next couple of weeks while I was drooling over it tonight I notice it has a jake brake function so they call it I doudt its a true jake but was wondering if anybody has some experience with this extra I pull some heavy trailor in the late summer and fall and this could come in handy if it works also wondering how it will with my pickup being a stick shift:humm: thanks for reading

I know for a fact its not a jake brake, but I have no clue but kinda intereasted to see if any one knows. Just for you info jakes are a electrical/mechanical housing that sits over the valves and when acctuated the ecm will send a signal to a solenoid to push the exhaust valve open to release the cylinder compression, and shuts off the injectors. If you already did not know how they work.

From what I understand it closes the vanes in our VGT to create exhaust back pressure, this allows the turbo to assist in braking my using the motor to slow down the truck. Any extra input on this would be great. Not actually a jake brake......that's just what the tuners call it.

Ya and thanks I do know what an actual Jake is I laugh every time someone tells me they have a Jake on their pickup but back to the subject I thought it had to do with the vanes in the turbo but have yet to hear of anybody using it

I use it when I tow the camper and yes it closes the vanes, also has an option to keep the converter locked when decelerating.both together makes a big difference, my trailer is about 8k loaded.
