fuel system question

what's up guys. quick question... can a fuelab pump or an a1000 be used as a stand alone fuel system? i always thought it needed a lift pump to feed it (ad, fass. ect...) but i see all these company's selling "complete" fuel systems with just an A1000 or a fuelab with no mention of a lift pump... was i wrong?:humm:

You can use the a1000 as a standalone.

Cummins Forum Admin kicked me off for "spam" for telling a true story (sounds like censorship and conflict of interest). But here's my Fuelab experience. I was replacing my failing original equipment fuel pump on my 2001 2500 4x4. My diesel mechanic replaced it with a Fuelab pump. He had been putting them in some other trucks and was impressed with them so far. Within 2 weeks and a couple of hundred miles, the new fuel pump started to fail. My mechanic called Fuelab to send a replacement. He was told it was their warranty policy not to replace defective pumps, but to rebuild them. He would have to take the pump out and send it back in, and pay for the shipping. This would take a week to fix, not including shipping time. This means my truck would be down for two weeks repairing their defective product. I then called them myself, because as a business owner I could not believe they had such poor customer service. I was told repeatedly this was their warranty policy and they would not refund either. I told them I would not put their pump back in my truck if this was there policy even if I had to buy another pump. I also told them I would tell as many people as I could about their shitty customer service and warranty policy. Please help me out. Tell everyone you know and do not purchase Fuelab products. I am pointing out to potential users Fuelab warranty policy. If you think their policy is OK, buy their product. If you think I am misstating the facts, call Fuelab (217-324-3737) and ask them what their warranty policy is on defective pumps. My only axe to grind is that of a dis-satisfied customer warning others.

I agree if what you state is true. You bought and paid for a new pump and that is what you should get.

Thanks for your reply. If in doubt feel free to call Fuelab, that's why I included their number. Perhaps if enough people called, they'd change their policy.

Thanks for the heads up key man. I was going to go with the ad165.
