injectors

What are some cheap injectors that will boost my hp and still be cost affective im on a tight budget

jdbigblue12v 08-31-2011 01:49 PM

try prince of darkness others call them PODS

RSWORDS 08-31-2011 04:59 PM

Not on a non-I/Ced truck. The POD's are not much of an improvement at all. What little advantage they have in size over the stocker they give up in crappy patterns. Good stock non-I/Ced injectors should carry you to 350-175HP... 400 if you have a perfect tune but I mean PERFECT. I would not waste money on POD's.

I'm running some 435's rigt now in my 92. I had 6x16's in my 89, they made good power but were VERY smokey and needed ALOT of timimg to make them come alive. I would recomend 435's to anyone.

Stock Non-IC are 155* Spray
POD are 150*
IC 91.5-98 are 145*

Stay with stock so you can avoid 7mm-9mm conversion washers and often a poor match of injector spray/cylinder bowl.

If you want 155* 7 hole I can get them to you.

i want to do bigger injectors on my 91 dodge i believe it has the smaller injectors because turn up the piss off screw and full power and i hardly get anything power wise so whats best for an ic 91 cummins with strait pipe cold air intake and minor pump mods?
and a tight budget?

jkidd 09-08-2011 01:24 PM

So this is for a 1991 Intercooled? What are you doing for a turbo? There are 40HP options that are still pretty clean, Also a 5x.012 will give a good amount of flow increase, but a turbo upgrade will be in order.

t-bone117yamaha 09-08-2011 02:17 PM

i have the stock turbo and i want bigger injectors and would like it to smoke when my foots in it but be just haze at other times so not too much smoke

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

and im also on a strict budget like $500

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

what kind of budget turbo upgrades are out there?

RSWORDS 09-08-2011 08:11 PM

An HX40 with teh 16cm housing (<-- Must be 16cm if you want it to run right) is probably the best budget turbo upgrade. You gonna need to upgrade your budget though if you want good injectors and a decent turbo

t-bone117yamaha 09-09-2011 12:05 PM

cool thanks and the $500 is just for injectors if im gunna do the turbo too i would probably hope for no more then $1000

fatirishguy 09-09-2011 08:04 PM

Hey it,s been a while for me. I would also like to know best injectors and turbo upgrade? you know smoke when on it hard but just haze when driving like a grown up.

Is your truck I/Ced or non-I/Ced?

We have a feew sponsors here on the site that can take care of you on injectors and get you going in the right direction!

t-bone117yamaha 09-14-2011 01:07 PM

its an i/ced truck and i was also looking at a new turbo set up thinking about an hx35 i do pull everynow and then and want to be able to spin the tires everynow and then and smoke when my foot is to the floor but just haze when driving like an adult thanks.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

and this is all on your typical minimum wage 20 hour a week high schoolers budget

RSWORDS 09-14-2011 07:43 PM

I would not waste your money on an hx35. Unless its given to you its not worth the upgrade. Save your pennies and get you a nice Super HX40

t-bone117yamaha 09-15-2011 03:39 PM

cool ill look into that thanks so much.

is the hx40 a direct bolt on replacement cus my pops wont let me do to much fab work on this truck as it is my daily driver. and all i can find about it is that it fits a 94 and up so will i need a second gen down pipe and any moddifying to get it to fit?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

this is kinda off topic and sorry for thread jacking but on the back of my fuel pump on my 91 d250 there is a little cone shapped cover is the full power screw underneath that cap? and from the factory are they usually all the way down on the washer? cus i dont want to waist time getting the cap off just to find out its maxxed out so to say. i dont want to remove the collar/washer because of run away but would like to turn it down to the washer if it is not already thanks,
Tanner
