Installed DNR TPS Delete!!

I just installed my DNR Customs TPS delete kit lastnight and I LOVE IT!! Just wanted to post something on here telling people about it so they can save bout $360 bucks from not buyin a new TPS Sensor that'll just go out later down the road!!! :c:

moneyman_09 03-30-2011 07:39 PM

I was going to do a write up on the installation of this but the trans in my truck craped out for the second time before i had a chance to install it. I still plan on installing it after i put my trans back in.

sweetv8s10 03-30-2011 07:56 PM

When you install the kit are still able to use the push button on the dash to lock it out when you don't want it to shift into OD or does it bypass the push button all together?:humm:

chromehound 03-30-2011 11:36 PM

Button still works or at least mine did in the '93 along with the cruise.

flyingcrodeo 03-31-2011 04:52 PM

Yes button still works

Levi Miller 04-01-2011 11:22 AM

ive had one in for about a year and it is the most facinating 35 dollar piece of equipment in my truck without it i would still be cruisin 3 gears i would like to se their site as a sponsor on here idk how it works butt they are a good first gen site:tu:

Klockmon 04-01-2011 10:01 PM

OMG! :D
I Didnt know this thing even existed?! This changes everything! My overdrive stinks! I would love to use it, but it has a mind of its own lol.
Thank you so much for posting this :)
Does anyone one have a link to how to install it?

flyingcrodeo 04-02-2011 04:00 PM

They send you step by step instructions with the kit so its very easy they even say what size drill bit you need to drill whole for adjusting knob and the socket to tighten the nut on it but overall very easy install should take 15 mins and that includes getting your tools together!

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

My truck easiely cruises at 80 mph now with no problems, overall my truck runs SOOO much better its like a whole new truck!

fatirishguy 04-02-2011 09:48 PM

This makes my choice easy, ordering today. theres nothing like turning on your cargo light when you meant to hit overdrive button.

elephantrider 04-03-2011 10:33 AM

i just ordered one. should be a nice upgrade.

dnrcustoms 04-05-2011 08:23 AM

Thanks for all the compliments guys, glad the kit is working well for you.

Klockmon 04-05-2011 10:46 AM

Ordered mine the other day too, I'm looking forward too it :)

flyingcrodeo 04-05-2011 06:35 PM

Yeah i'll be expectin some commission on this thread! LOL JK JK :c:

elephantrider 04-10-2011 12:11 PM

2 Attachment(s)
so got this bad boy installed today. the pic of the
wire pin location on the instructions was kind of
confusing ( at least to me ), and i installed it back
wards. took it for a drive and it obviously wouldnt
shift into od, so i swapped the blue and green pins,
and wah lah ! od at 40 mph. love it love it love it.

throttle position sensor :tu:

elephantrider 04-10-2011 02:24 PM

not sure why that posted twice...

flyingcrodeo 04-11-2011 08:47 AM

Throttle Position Sensor or whatever its on the injector pump and tells your trans when to go into Over Drive

Levi Miller 04-11-2011 11:07 AM

throttle positioning seensor it is the big black thing on the top of your injector pump on first gen automatics

crazy clem 04-11-2011 07:09 PM

I installed the potentiometer for a buddy and he loves it . the only thing that bugs me is that when you boot it you have to manually shift out of OD. so to make that easier we installed the 2nd gen OD button on the shifter. did i screw up ? or is that the way this works without the tps telling the computor your foot is on the floor? its still better than paying dodge for that overpriced POS

fatirishguy 04-11-2011 10:31 PM

TPS is the throttle position sensor, something you dont need on first gens.

fatirishguy 04-14-2011 09:18 PM

Its the THROTEL POSITION SENSOR.

64crew4x4 04-15-2011 10:58 AM

Where do I go to Buy one of these DNR kits...?

Levi Miller 04-15-2011 11:05 AM

thats right. when you disable the tps, it kills the "inteligence" to allow
an upshift out of od when you romp on it. good side is that it wont
upshift on a dyno run or track pass.

fatirishguy 04-15-2011 10:32 PM

It's the Throttle posistion sensor, that tell's tranny when to shift.

sweetv8s10 04-16-2011 12:14 AM

Only for overdrive the other three gears are hydraulic not electronic.

niver 04-23-2011 01:52 PM

Why are you guy's paying $35.00 for somthing you can make for about $6.00?
I found a tread on it or a sticky I can't remember which took 20 min to make it and install it.

elephantrider 04-25-2011 05:08 PM

cuz i charge more than $35/hr labor rate.
if you include the parts cost, it doesnt
pay for me to make the part.

64crew4x4 05-02-2011 11:54 AM

I bought one too....

I Charge 45.00 an Hr... So buying one and taking the 15 mins to install it was Money well spent...

I took a 6 hr Road trip.... unit Worked AWESOME.....I found that with mine at 1 o-clock it shifts perfect for me....

Thanks DNR.....:rocking:

elephantrider 05-04-2011 12:45 PM

^ thats where i have mine as well, right at the 1
o'clock position. still working great !

Is there any way you can help a cummins owner in need of help by sending a pic of the wiring diagram, or a pic of the way the kit is wired
Thanks ya for your time
