Opinions on my plan for a first gen build

I Would like to hear ur guy's opions on the stuff I have came up with so far for a build, and if u have any suggestions to improve what I have here please let me know and tell me what u would think would work better,I am just tryign to learn more so yea here it is

not alot I know but I think its a pretty good start...

1.Aurora 3000 turbo 1568.00

2.Super Dog Fuel/air sperator and Filtration $499.00

3.4" exshaust 365.00

4. First gen gonvener 3200 Spring 18.99

5.Bosch POD injctors $440.00

6.Denny T stage 2 pin 105.00

First of all, what are the plans for the truck? Play toy, daily driver, will it tow? Any horsepower goals? Auto or 5spd? Intercooled or Non Intercooled?

1. What size is the Aurora 3000? For a performance truck, a 62/71/14 S300 is the turbo to go to, but for a truck that will tow a Super HX40 or 60/68/14 would be better options.

2. If you want to stay at or around 400rwhp, I would recommend a low pressure piston pump over an electrical unit, as I don't like adding electronics to a truck when they don't really need them, especially a 1st Gen. I would also recommend upgrading the factory fuel lines to 1/2".

3. 4" exhaust is a good idea, and you'll love the sound.

4. 366 spring is another good idea.

5. Ditch the POD's for a better injector. For performance a set of 6X.016's is the way to go (possible a 5 hole injector, but for now the 6 holers rule the 1st gen performance world.) If you still need to work the truck, a set of 370's with a turbo I suggested, an exhaust and mild pump tuning will be a great powerful and reliable setup.

6. The DennyT cone is another great choice. Worth every penny in my opinion.

7. You'll need to tune the AFC as well as the screws to get the most potential form your VE.

Other notes:

As I'm sure you know, gauges are a must when you start modding, even if you think you have enough air to keep it cool, always play it safe. The gauges I think are must haves are EGT, fuel pressure, boost and tranny temp, even in a 5spd if you tow.

If you have an automatic, plan on at least upgrading the converter. A swap to a 47rh with lockup would be the best option for an auto, but the non lockups are okay once Dave Goerend has a hand in them.

I'm sure I'll think of more later...

Joseph Carlson, the Tech Rep at Delphi America in Michigan went as far as to say the POD is not a good option for the 5.9L.

mk so I would definatley rule the pod out,I don't know why the 3200 spring was'nt in there but that was a for sure plan lol

but to anser ur question about wat it wil be used for it would be a daily driver,I am shooting for like between 350 to 400 hp,prefrebly closer to 400,I would prefer it to be a intercooled, and I am probally thinking an auto,I was planning on the 47rh lockup swap and buidling it up so its super strong with a manual valve body and a new Tourqe converter, probally would go with Goerend

lol hav'nt got the truck yet just planning out what I am gonna do to it,soooooooo yea might be weird sounding but I gotta keep myself motivated some how lol

With the mods I listed, you will have no problem hitting 400rwhp, especially with a Goerend built 47RH. Lockup is very nice...

Just for extra assurance, and so you know what is going on. I'd rather have a gauge and not need it, than not have it, and burn my tranny up.

x2 on everything but one point! I think for a performance truck teh 62/74/14 is the hot set-up. But teh 71 exhaust housing is bad ass too!
