Kickdown

any ideas on how to deal with the kickdown issues that come with turning the pump up on automatic trucks? with the push-cable setup on these rigs the only thing i can think to do about it is to make a longer lever for the trans end of things to deal with the longer throw up top? is there a better way to go about this?

what longer throw? Your talking about the tranny I assume. What exactly are you doing to the pump to get the longer throw? The kick down cable for the tranny has a good bit of adjustment in it.

Here is a write up on adjusting the kickdown

the longer throw i was referring to was the change in distance between low idle and full fuel on the throttle cam, i turned the fuel screw up two turns and had to idle it down to compensate for the difference, bringing the cam forward left me about a 1/2 inch gap between the pin and the back of the slot on the kickdown cable, i diddnt know that these cables were adjustable.

Thanks for the info, that link was exactly what i was after
