Well, the pin is working out great, its putting down a lot of power, hope to get it on a dyno soon, by New Years anyways, uh, its not wearing down at all, but I have it in a mixture of Royal Purple Maxfilm mixed with Royal Purple Synthetic Grease in the AFC plunging hole area and its stays submerged in the solution and no problems so far with that setup so it constantly stays lubed well, no wear at all, just inspected it a few days ago, I'm happy so far, works great, IMO. :rock:

I hope the metal is hard enough. Ive seen a few homemade jobs groove bad fairly quickly. I would look into getting it heat treated to at least 60 rockwell.

58 rockwell would do. That's what I found that other pins are at I may be wrong but think it was Dennyt that said that's what his are.. Mine is from my father-in-law who is a machinist. It's a M3 style ramp at 58rockwell, and has never grooved at all with close to 6,000 miles on it.
