allison transmission to Dodge Cummins
what would be the best allison transmission, to put in my 2007 5.9 4x4 Dodge cummins truck? where could I get a trans? and the Adapter kit for it?
thanks |
Why? 48RE is pretty strong and cheaper to upgrade then the Allison.

Build yourself a HD 48re and itll be stronger then an allison any day. Allisons are only tough when the truck is stock. Once you mod those duramaxs the allisons dont hold up after 500hp.

Re: allison transmission to Dodge Cummins
Fleece performance and destroked have kits and controllers to do the swap.

hello
my truck is running a ford 5r110w mated to a 12v cummins using a destroked kit and a pcs trans controller

Waste of time and money to put an Allison in a Dodge.......just build up the 48RE and it will out preform the Allison anyway.

Agreed. The last i knew, the only way to put a allison with a cummins is to build ur own computer for it. Has someone come out with a computer to control the allison/cummins combo? :humm:
But, the one exception to this is the older hydraulic models. AT545's. They don't require any computers or wiring. Well, mostly. You still have to wire in the speedometer pickup and modulator. But these transmissions stopped being produced in 2000. You can still get them all over the place though if you know where to look. But also, as stated before, while this is all possible. It's just not worth the price tag for the conversion. |
