Air intakes

If your buying an intake you should get a full box intake. If you are running an open intake box you will pulling more air than stock but it will be hot air from the engine bay so you'll be getting worse performance than a stock filter. Most of the intake systems that advertise more power with an open air filter are bench tested and not in a vehicle. Of course they make more power when they aren't in the vehicle surronded by a hot diesel. I'm running the full banks intake with the scoop (don't recommend if floods or snows alot where you're at) but other then that i saw good gains in performance and mileage.

+1. Cold air is denser, which means more ponies for you to play with.

And those scoops look retarded. I wish that they'd find another place to put it. Looks like your tryin to suck up squirls when your goin down the road. I hear thats not good for the turbo.:w2:
