Transmission and compounding turbos

Im planning on compounding my stock turbo with a 76mm turbo and am trying to figure out how well the stock transmission will hold up if i do compound the turbos.

It wont last very long and it will become pissed of in a hurry! I would look into do the supporting mods first to help make it as reliable as possible. What do you have done to the truck?

Not too much...haven't had the time. 2003 ram 3500, i put a bully dog in it, change out th air filter to age kit, and put 5" pipe from turbo back into 5" single stack

Well put lol A friend of mine had an 05 and it started slipping at 70K, bone stock. 2003 still has the 47RE trans in it also I believe... Correct me if im wrong :humm:

Yes im pretty sure that the tranny model is 47RE...my issue is that if i do install the compound turbos will the tranny basically just fry bc of the boost amount or will the tranny hold up for a decent amount of time before completely breaking and needing to be rebuilt.

Well really it depends on your right foot. If you take it easy it will be fine... But when you have compound turbos who wants to stay out of the throttle ha ha

Unless your adding more fuel, the extra air won't gain you a lot more power. It will definitely gain some, and you'll have much lower EGT's.
