Black smoke
Hey everyone, I drive a 03 ram 3500 with twin turbos and duel CP3s. I have a question? My truck is constantly blowing black smoke(not white or grey) and I can be taking off normal and I black out the highway or get pulled over.. It doesn't smoke as bad when it's 65 degrees or so but is there anything I can do to make it not smoke so much?

Fill out your signatur so we know what all you have done to your truck. What size are your turbos? Your pushing alot of fuel with dual cp3's too.
ok i did my signature but i cant remember my turbo sizes i wanna say around a 60 and an 80, roughly in that area. i know im pushing a shitton a fuel with those cp3s but there has to be some way i can get it from smoking so much. every gear it smokes, litterally, even if im barly touching the pedal. When its cold outside(40 degress and below) i can be driving in 6th at a steady 55-60mph and i can look in my mirror and see it puffing smoke

its just too much fuel man. that motor isnt meant to handle that much fuel.... black smoke= unused/raw fuel.

Try putting an a/c clutch on one of those pumps
Idk I just need to do something.. Getting pulled over is getting old ha.. What do u mean by the a/c clutch?
As in have it only operating one fuel pump normally. Have the second pump be engaged by a switch or when a certain psi is reached.
thats a good idea with the a/c clutch has it been done :humm:
try to detune the truck
im not sure but if it hasn't been done, I'd think there must be something wrong with the functionality since it is otherwise a sweet deal
