Smarty Lope Coming
 

i have a mechanic buddy who deal smarty. and he said that smarty is trying to come out with a lope tune. is this true. please tell me it is!!

I highly doubt it... Marco the creator is about fine tuning to get the most usable power, not some fancy look at me gimic...

am i the only one who has no clue what a "lope tune is?"

Right but there's no special "tune" to get a cummins to sound like that. Takes some high performance parts to accomplish that. Now take a stock dmax or stock ford add tune and "look at me I have a badass truck" no u don't... The lope tune was developed because of how a highly moded cummins sounds at idle...

These trucks are what started the lope tune craze... These lope for a reason though :D

At a pull, at a track, highly modded truck ya no problem, but remember the original post was about a tune that would 'mimic' this...

i like to hear it at the track...but me personally, i dont want to sit at a stoplight and feel like my truck is gonna detonate! if someone has a serious lope around me and he shows me that hes got some serious nuts in his truck then ok...cool

i dont give a lol i love the way a lope idle sounds. its all about what you like. some ppl like it and some ppl dont. personally i think powerstrokes sound like gas burners and same with duramax. and some ppl dont like the way cummins sound. all about what you like. just like stacks, you couyld say that people with stacks are trying to be an 18wheeler while some other ppl may like stacks. i like mitre cut stacks and a lope tune

You can 'like' it but its still super gay...Like you said, personal opinion...

It does sounds BA, but i would want my truck to lope cuz its a fire breathing monster. As far as a tune......i guess, if you cant afford to make your truck sound like that cuz it is a monster....here's your alternative. But the question i have is, is a tune like that hard on stuff??

It would have to be...Which I why I think its so stupid. I would love to hear from someone that has done this as a 'tune'...

Like, dislike, whatever, here's my honest .02. I (and I'm sure other's as well) would rather have ANY manufacture be putting the money into R&D of something that will ACUTALLY help my truck perform better. i.e. more horsepower, fuel economy, efficiency, etc.

With this being said, I would be surprised if Marco (MADS) is going to be putting the time/energy = money into producing such a 'lope' tune that doesn't offer anything to the benefit of the truck/user. :c:

I think that any engine loping at idle is super cool... IF THE MOTOR IS BUILT TO THE POINT THAT IT HAS TO LOPE! I'm not cool with the mimic of performance. If that's the case, buy a ricer Honda and go to town.

Note: I have an '89 VW sitting in my garage that lopes at idle. Most people thinks it sounds broken. To me it sounds like 276* cams and 12:1 compression out of a 16v 4-cyl. :rocking: I love the way that car sounds, mainly because I know that the car can back up the sound.

my 05 dodge lopes at idle when its engine temp is at around 160 is this normal or is there something i need to look into, my buddy thinks its just trying to get warm with the lower temps we have be seeing (12-18) degrees

I don't get it, it's the same thing. You're putting a lope "tune" in a truck that doesn't have the power of an all out puller that actually has a lope. :argh::argh::argh:

It's the same thing with the smoke switch. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY SOMETHING THAT IS WORTH WHILE. Who knows, you might modify your truck enough to get a real lope

Yeah, I absolutely hate the little rice grinders with the big fart cans.

It's really starting to get on my nerves that we make fun of them, or a lot of us do, and we have all these diesel guys that want to put smoke switches on their trucks. Thats the same thing the ricers are doing. Now theres these guys that want their trucks to lope like the pullers do. Why don't they just save up the money, and buy performance parts that will eventually get them there?

It seems like pretty soon we're going to get guys wanting to put underglow, body kits, wings, and Nawz (nitrous) on their stock trucks.
