Bullydog PMT question

OK Fellas,

I may or may not have the chance at a BD PMT, would prefer a smarty but hey if the price is right..
Anyway been through the treads and I’m not seeing any real pro's or con's, I know most is opinion and that’s fine to but I am looking for something more solid.

So tell me what the true no BS low down on this programmer is. The good, the bad, the ugly, if you will!!

I have a for the most part engine wise a stock 04.5, have the cold air, opened the exhaust, put in the gauges and that’s about it.

Main goal.... MPG and Reliability
Secondary some power to play with on occasion when feelin frisky

At BEST I can pull 18mpg that being mostly HW, but not consistent, I would like to see more consistency and somewhere in the 20’s and the best place I can think of to get the true answers is here...

SO with that being said what do you guys think?

Advantage over smarty is that the PMT has built in guages. The smarty is more popular and gives you more ability to custom tune for your vehicle but you need guages. PMT allows you to change settings while driving. The Smarty PMT will do that but again no guages on the smarty.
I have a PMT on my 03. Good power but runs hot. Really Hot. Bought it before guages. Now with gauges installed I would look at the Smarty POD closer.
My MPG improvements are offset by foot to smile ratio....
