Got My Commander
I found a commander from a TDR member for $325 shipped for the pressure kit and pillar mount.
couldnt beat it so I snagged it. everything looks pretty straight forward. I'm kind of leary on drilling my manifold any install tips. overall. it also says I need wire taps what are they? Im not sure I need to install the pressure kit. should I? |
here you go.... good info in here....

ok. one question. the Quad instructions say that you should drill and tap the manifold between cylinders 2 and 3
|
the way you drill it will be the same..... i guess they have done the research and found that to be the "hot" spot so it's reading the hottest point..... if that's where they say drill it there do it. on my HTT manifold there are 2 bungs for stuff ~3/4" from the turbo flange one on each side of the divider.

ok she is all installed. question.
what should I set my alerts for my EGT, boost and tranny temps? I also have High idle after I installed the commander. I did notice that I had the commander set for a 04 and not an o4.5 like I should have. so I'm hoping that is it. but what could cause high idle (1k rpms compared to normal 6-800rpms) When I installed the 4510 air filter it was high when I first started up but then idled down to normall after it adjusted. |
my egt alert is set at 1250, boost at 32 and tranny temp has no alert - you shouldn't see any heat frm the tranny unless you are hauling loads in extreame conditions. Of course i have a Ford six leaker so boost will be different but EGTs i would think would be about the same.
