hey i just installed one for my buddy about three weeks ago. from what i understand (correct me if im wrong anyone) it kinda takes over your computer and determines how it will shift from its own computer. you get a little nob that goes in your truck and you can adjust the firmness

a friend has one and yes it has a 3 position knob and the higher the setting the firmer it shifts... basically it just ups your line pressure so the clutch packs have a geater holding force and the trans shifts firmer and also the best part of having one of these is welll..... u know when you floor it from a roll and the trans downshifts but if feels like it cant find the right gear for a sec (flaring, ive noticed it to be worst at about 35 on a modded truck) this module gets rid of that, just a firm downshift.

im takin my truck in to get the trans built tomorrow and am gonna order one while its in the shop

The shift enhancers modify the operation of the TTVA motor to compensate for more fuel at lower than stock APPS readings. They essentially advance the TV pressure at a different rate and starting point than the stock program, the exact same the kickdown cable on the earlier trucks did.

They do NOT modify line pressure.

They do NOT modify gov pressure.

They do NOT take over any computer functions.

IF one intends to remove the TQ management with a programmer then they are a needed investment. If ones is trying to cure shuttle shift either up or down, hang shifting at WOT, etc, then all it will do is cover up the real cause until it eats the trans.

thank for the info i just got back from the tranny shop and it turned out that the bands on the tranny were way out of adjustment from what the guy told me it took 3 full turns to get them in spec and tighten them down so i am just going to stay away from the shiftmaster seems like it will band aid the problem and make it worse in the long run
