Dual CP3 or P7100?

I have a 07 5.9 with some mods and since my LP went out my CP3 is on its last leg and since I'm going to be fixing that real soon, I want to know how running a dual CP3 would compare to the P7100 pump. I use this truck to pull a couple trailers the heaviest being 19000lb horse trailer, but I don't plan on sled pulling with it so I'm not looking to go super extreme...

If you find a P7100 pump that will provide the rail pressure needed for the common rail engines, I'm all for it. Not meaning to flame you, but until then, it's wishful thinking.

P7100 mechanically controls pressure to each injector and controls when the injector fires via those pressures... The CP3 simply provides very high fuel pressure to a single fuel rail, and the injectors are controlled by the ECM.

In other words, they are both fuel pumps, but have very different functions and would not be interchangeable.:ok1:

Okay the rail pressure really screwed my thinking here... So I guess the new question that is being posed is, who is running a dual CP3 setup and what do you think of it?

there is one company out there that p pumped a cr P-Pump Conversion

if your only planning on pulling a trailer then a p pump conversion would be a complete waste of time and money IMO, there is no way to turn it down on the fly when you need to and even dual cp3's might be a little too much for just towing...would it be sweet yes, but its not needed...you get a good programmer and you'll have more then enough power to pull those trailers. Maybe just a Modified cp3 from industrial injection or some other company, or a bag of parts from Columbus Diesel Supply and you can modify it yourself:pca1:

After seeing how much it would cost to do the P Pump, I'm definetly going to stick with the CP3. I've been looking at industrial injections stuff for awhile, that where I got the idea, but I think I'm leaning more to a modified CP3 now...

Now, in the future if I do decide to do some sled pulling, would a modified CP3 be enough or would I need a little more like Industrial's stage III or super CP3.

it depends on how serious you are about pullin the sled...if your just a weekend hooker:humm: then a modified cp3 would be plenty, if your wanting to win then ya your gonna need to step up, but remember more fuel=more heat, so you will need to upgrade the turbo and what not:5:

its been done, but you need to machine for different injectors with a different pressure. It has been done successfully, but in the end all you really have is a p-pumped 24 valve. I cant think of who it was but there is a you-tube video.
