Edge Juice problem on 04.5

Here lately after running around with the juice on level 5, i am starting to develop kind of a miss.. not sure how to explain it.. If i have it on level 5 (low boost fueling on level 5) and taking off easy from a stop. when i reach both 4th and 5th gear. and right at 1600-1700 rpms, there is just a small miss/hiccup where it cuts out for just a split second. But if i am accelerating hard, it doesnt do it.. So i am pretty much stumped on what it is.. I figured that it could be fuel pump not supplying enough fuel, but if it did it easing on the throttle, i would think it would cut out real bad accelerating hard.. so looking to see what you guys think.. The juice is the only performance thing done to it besides the AFE intake.. has staight pipe.. but thats it.. What do you guys think?:argh:

a friend of mine just told me yesterday that he has a fuel pressure guage out of his old truck before he put a FASS on it that i could have to put on my truck to see if it is not getting enough PSI or if it something different..

mine does the same thing pretty much... if i leave it idel for awhile after it is already warm... it will hicup at about 1500 rpms then run fine... i found out that if i turn the chip to stock then back to milage it wont do it and fixes the hicup till the next time i let it idel for 15 min or so... i drive around in milage so idk if it does it in extreme

I emailed edge and this is wat they said:

Jeremy,
Honestly levels 4 and 5 are mainly designed for HP gains... Due to the fueling of these levels you will notice slight drivability issues unless driving the truck aggressively. I drive an early 04 Dodge and mine is very apparent in an level higher than 4. I would assume that the issue is still apparent during the 15-20 mins perhaps by coincidence it was not noticed... Also I would be curious if you have done anything as far as the lift pump is concerned... The reason I ask is that anything over level 4 will demand more fuel than the factory pump can supply. I hope this is of some help.
thanks,

So i guess your not supposed to run level 4 and level 5 unless you are runnign more power adders than just a chip...

My real question is, will it hurt anything if i just deal with the hiccup and leave it on level 5 or am i hurting my ecm....:humm:

DIRTYMAX2004 01-06-2009 03:31 PM

ive heard that before... i still run level 5 when i really wanna get on it... it dont seem like it is lacking fuel... i dont think that little hicup will hurt anything

Mine is the same way but i now have a fass 150 on the truck and if i am lugging on the high settings it will do that at times. but the fass helped alot and i now have the hot # 6 setting good god it makes almost an extra 70 hp they say. i thought it was only going to 20 more. I think the miss is only due to extra fuel in the motor due to the fueling. just my thought:pals:
