Wicked Diesel Fuel System (older write up)

This is some older reviews I've written on other sites...I didn't see a product review section so i am posting them here.

Well many of you know I've had issues with fueling mods thus far. I've been through a couple stockers and 3 FASS systems. Well I believe my luck has changed. I was in a position to obtain one of WD's fuel systems so I jumped at the opportunity and I am certainly glad that I did. First all, let me say that the system is very similar to every other kit out there install wise. There is a line that runs to the CP3 and a line that run to the filler neck as a return. Thats where the similarities end. The WD kit comes an altered Holley regulator that as been tweaked to their specs and has a 1/8" NPT fitting tapped on it for a nylon line to run to a boosted source. The kit also inclunded a -8 union with 1/8" guage port for FP guages and such. So, after the install, as per instruction from Shane @ Wicked Diesels, I fired up the truck after the grid heater had cycled and tweaked the FP down to about 18lbs at idle. Now intially, I had a small leak that I fixed that altered my FP readings, but after tracking it down I got it dialed in. The truck idle VERY smooth and pressure didn't fluctuate like my FASS. The fun really began on the test drive. In 4th gear, FP was about 29lbs @ 15lbs of boost and when I hammered on it, the FP guage climbed just like my boost guage at a 1:1 ratio and the truck ran like never before. Those of you contemplating this kits with the others out there, don't bother...it gets my vote hands down every time. I shot some pictures with my camera and then my memory card got washed with the laundry so you'll have to deal with my camera phone pictures.

The only problem I ran into was here, the braket made the filter touch the bed and the bolt for the leaf spring at the same time even after trimming. So, with alittle help from some small washers and longer bolts, I spaced it towards the rear bumper 1/3" inch or so.

Took about 1.5hrs to install and I believe they are about 6-700 bucks. Similar to a FASS setup in price.
