stacking with smarty

has anybody stacked a juice with attitude with a smarty? and if so how dose it work?

guroo987 05-12-2007 10:47 PM

seems to be a common stack, you just have to make sure you run the smarty on a non timing level. the guys seem to be perty happy with the combo. i see this setup in my future!

stacking

that was what i read a few months ago, but lately i read somewhere that they didn't work very well togeather. but in theory it should work as long as the smarty was being used without the timing. i was just wondering if anybody out there was currently using this stack and could give me some imput.

Buddy of mine has an Ez stacked with the smarty and he is rather mad at himself that he even bought the smarty. He said that you can do a lot of stuff with it as far as data and codes but as far as power, it has none. I told him he would have been better off just sellin both and gettin either an edge juice with attitude or bullydog or even just a high horsepower chip. He has injectors, turbo, headwork and dual disk clutch but he said that he is disappointed with the chip and programmer. I dont know, as I have never driven his truck. Just word of mouth, whether its true or not, I don't know. He just ordered a "hot rod vp44" so I guess he will see, he apparently has more money than he knows what to do with.....:sen:

I was just fixing to say something's wrong until you said hot rod VP meaning a 24v truck. I dont have any experience with that version but mine made 468hp and 923 lb ft of torque on level 9. The 24v version is only worth about 65hp. I highly recommend the smarty for the CR trucks.

I second that, I have made my numbers with a very conservative setup.

the smarty for the 24 valve is supposed to have major low end grunt, and than the edge has the top end, plus with the smarty you can dump a lot of fuel. the smarty on th 24 valve deos not make the power that the juice deos but has a ton of bottom end so it seems like it is making a lot of power. the stack is good cause one takes over where the other leaves off. if you can understand where i am coming from, but like i said i have no personal experience with the stack as i am only running the juice/attitude.

You are comparing apples and oranges. I've had both. The smarty and Ez should NOT be stacked together. They do the same thing. Tell him to get rid of the ez and only use the smarty. Also tell him the HRVP is a waste of money and IMO not worth the card board box it's shipped in. An SO pump will do every thing and more. If he wants top end go with a TST.

As for the CR smarty it's worth every penny. It does everything it says it will. I know some complain of weird shift points but I havent had that problem. I've also heard the smarty and edge dont stack well. IMO with what is being done with the smarty I'd get rid of the edge. All though the on the fly adjustability would be nice. The TST stacks well with the smarty. They can be picked up used for cheap. One went for around 300 bucks a while back on ebay.
