push rod talk
whats the limit of stockers whats every one run and how have they held up to the 4000 tunes |
i think the biggest thing with running a 4000K tune is your valve springs you need atleast 60 pounders and it think your stock pushrods will be fine with just 60# springs but once ya go over that you should look into HD pushrods

Mr Hamilton told me running a mild 650hp i would be fine. i hope my truck makes 650 hp
so i really dont know what hp you need to changed them out at |
:humm:i was kinda wondering the same myself i am upgrading my cam springs and putting studs in while im at it

STock push rods are very healthy... IMO I wouldn't waste the time and money it putting billet ones in unless you are going to have a dedicated sled puller or track truck.. WHY... you need a weak link in your motor.. TO run the 4k tune all's you need is the valve springs. Hamilton's are what I installed and they work flawlessly.. But if you have a cam, springs, and push rods everything in the motor is built and has no weak point.. Getting back to the push rods if you bend a push rod they are easier to replace and work on than per say dropping a valve or bending your crank....
I believe LLoyd mills and tim barber at one time were running all stock pushrods and still mmight be...:c: |
