Q's about supporting mods

Since I am about to graduate college and start making some money instead of spendin it I am looking at some mods in the future. I want to stack a Smarty with a TST (which one is best?). I have a few Q's about what it is going to take to support this and still keep a daily driver. :j:

I have a 06 with a 6-speed.

I know that I am going to need

Fuel - Fass or ?

Clutch - DD is a must but what is the best one out there

Turbo - twins? or ???

Exhaust - Is a muffler delete enough or a complete SP or 5"?

Air intake - aftermarket drop in filter or complete new set-up

Studs - ???

CP3s - what the heck is this and what do I need???

I am sort of new to the diesel truck world but have been around the diesel tractor world my whole life, I hope that this will help me with my "toy".

Thanks

We need to know what your HP goal is. The first thing you'll need are gauges.

Fuel - I prefer Airdog. There aren't many out there. They are one of those best kept secrets IMO.

Clutch - I have a South Bend DD and loved it. The first 500 miles it was grabby, but after that it was smooth sailing. It handle everything I could through at it, sled pulling, 3rd and 4th gear launchs.

Turbo - I've hadn singles and twins. For the money and eas of install singles are nice. There is less tuning invalved. For all around performance I loved the twins, but they cost much more and there can be a lot of tuning to get everything right.

Exhaust - I'd stick with the stock 4" and cut the muffler out. I wont recomend cutting the cat out as it's illegal in all 50 states.

Air intake - If you go with a single I go with a willy's whistler intake. I dont know if he's a member here, but he's a member over on DTR. He goes by 53willeys (willys). He's got instructions on how to make your own intake. It'll save you some money for other things.

Studs - I'd do them just for the security.

CP3s - This is your injection pump. There are many with over 600 RWHP on the stock cp3. You could change it out if you wanted, but IMO I'd see where the stock one takes you first.

Something else to consider is injectors. They range from mild with increased MPG to wild smoke out interstate.

Like I said we need to know what your end goal is to give the best info to help you make the best decision.

Thanks for the above info. I already have EGT, Fuel, and Boost guages. My HP goal is 800 RWHP, but I want to hit 600RWHP first and see if I am content with that or not. I have also heard that I might need ladder bars so that I can put the power to the ground. Injectors are something that I had not thought about, I do still want to drive this thing around town whenever I want and for now it is actually my daily driver, but that might change later.

Thanks
