48re cheap(er) upgrades

alright guys i just bought an 06 mega cab bone stock with a rebuilt 48re tranny i am clueless on the autos i have had a nv5600 6 speed for the past 2 years so i have forgot alot about the autos and i am trying to get a good list of the smaller parts like billet accumulator, levers, pretty much everything but the vb, tq, and shafts that i can upgrade to make it a little more reliable to start off, i was also thinking of a lock up switch maybe. good idea bad idea let me know it would be greatly appriciated if anyone can come up with a good path to start me off. eventually i am going to get a vb and billet input and probably a triple disk bc i want to run efi live but i want to get the tranny on solid footing first..thanks in advance.

What is your HP goal?

Is there any way you can get info on what exactly was done to that trans? It might already be built with lots of goodies. Or maybe just a rebuild to factory specs. If its not "built", be prepared to shovel over some cash to build it to your order. But the cost is going to depend largely on what your intentions are for your rig and your HP goal, like Jkidd asks. I just had my 48re "built" with lots of billet goodies, vb and triple disc converter, 6 wks ago. That set me back 5 grand, but now its bulletproof.:yeah:

The bare essentials are Valve body and TQ that alone will give you a substantial upgrade!
Then from there get a billet input billet apply lever 4.2 or 3.8 extra cooling with a fan and a tranny pan with extra capacity! Critical are gauges so you can see when your pushing to hard! 180 is fine over 210 and your killing your tranny fluid and tranny!
