any tips for lift pump instal?
I will be installing a fass ddrp tomorrow night, any tips? This is my first time, the fsm has you pulling the starter, it seems the filter housing is more in the way than the starter? Should I replace all the banjo washers? Do you guys put a torque wrench on the hard line connectors, if so I can see if the snip on guy has a 17mm crows foot on the truck. Anything I a missing? Thanks

I don't see anything about removing the starter in the instructions. Are you sure you looked at the right ones? There is a good procedure with torque specs here:

Do I need to use the filter that come with the kit? Does it go between pump and filter housing?
|
The filter that comes in the kit goes between the tank and the pump. It is a suction strainer, and keeps the coarse stuff out of the pump. I strongly suggest you use it to protect your pump. Remember to change it out time to time. Every 15,000miles or each year.

thanks for the help, install went fairly smooth, the filter ended up against the frame below the pump, I think I may try and insulate it from rubbing somehow?

A large clamp would do the trick. Something like these, then bolt it to the frame in an exsisting hole.

How is your fuel filter? Did you block mounted lift pump before you installed DDRP?

Like luke said if you had the intank pump and tried to draw fuel through it you might have a big restriction right there.
