DTT transmission buying question
so i was looking on dieseltrans.com for a 47re DTT transmission for my 2001 dodge ram2500 and i came across on their website that i could get a billet transmission with triple disc t/c for $2100, sounds like a bit off to me is this legit? :humm:
here is where i saw it Diesel Transmission Technology - DTT Performance Diesel Transmission and Power Accessories |
The way it sounds to me is that you could get all the parts for $2100 and you'd have to build it yourself. I spent about $4k on mine built and installed.

Correct.... all the parts for a rebuild plus TC $2100 and then just have someone build it.

how much roughly does it cost to install all of it? :humm:
|
Drop trans yourself and bring to a shop will decrease cost greatly. Don't know if you have the facilities for that but it's something you could consider. Planning on full rebuild?
|
yeah i dont have anything at the house to do that myself. yes i want to fully rebuild it i only want to dig into the thing once
|
That's an excellent way of going about it. It does cost more up front, but shouldn't be a hassle again, I did the same thing. Supplying parts will reduce cost, but see about warranty. Some builders may void warranty when they have parts supplied.
|
oh shoot i didnt even think of the warranty. thanks for reminding me :tu:
|
No problem. I ran into it with my builder. I was going to supply a T/C, but he really didn't like the idea. More or less a "who's to blame" if something happens. I let him use all his stuff, so its all HIS fault!!:ha:

haha nice:tu:
