Fluid Damper

What is thew benefit of added a fluid damper? Got this Quote from XDP Diesel Power site:

The buzz among performance truck owners is how well Fluidampr quiets and smooths out chatter in diesel engines. These smooth running engines gain HP and Torque. So if you're driving a tuned-up diesel pick-up...you've got to have a Fluidampr.

Doesn't make a whole lot of since to me... :humm: Diesels are noisy and vibrate any how, does this just reduce that?

Diesels, stock or modded, need all the harmonic protection they can get. If you haven't noticed, it's built a lot better than the stock balancer.

A worn out harmonic damper will allow the engine's harmonic vibrations to destroy your cam drive gears, crankshaft, clutch, transmission gears, etc. Repairing the broken component without replacing the damper will just accelerate wear on the next weakest link. Better to replace the damper before it wears out and sends you on a wild goose chase of other broken components.

Im doing a mild built street truck so it looks like a great addition to the list. What can I expect to pay for a decent one-not top dollar?
