Need more Power... Injectors???
I have 100hp nozzles on my truck and was thinking about upgrading to 200hp nozzles or injectors. I still have stock vp44 and turbo. I have heard it may cause some high EGT's if towing but I dont tow much. Check out my sig and let me know what you think. All input is appreciated. Thanks

I dont know what the Edge Comp is capable of but if its a tapped tuner and controls pulse width and timing the only thing your going to get out of 200hp injectors with the stock turbo is more smoke.
You need more air or all that fuel will be pointless. Are you still running a wastegate? As you can see i have similar mods and I have too much fuel. |
I have the turbo j-hooked which holds the wastegate shut longer. Im getting about 35lbs of boost at WOT. The edge comp is tapped to the vp44 but i still doesnt get power like I think it should. I sent it to edge and they updated it but still doesnt seem to get enough fuel. I dont know what to do. I can barely get any smoke. Im wondering if I tapped the right wire

it's the turbo the hy spools so quick it doesn't smoke. your next upgrade should be a good turbo.
|
A HY Turbo with a Comp and 150hp injectors should smoke like a freight train.

Put the $$ towards a smarty to stack w/ the comp instead of bigger injectors.
|
I'd save up for a Turbo. Like a 62mm Phat Shaft. Your already over fueling your HY.

If I was getting too much fuel wouldnt it be smoking like crazy? I barely get any smoke. I had a power puck installed before the edge and I can barely tell the difference between the puck and the edge comp. Everyone talks about how hard the edge comp fuels but I just dont see it. Thats why I was thinking I needed bigger injectors.

I had the HY on my truck wit the j-hook. It would smoke like crazy if i was all over it. But it would get HOT FAST!!!!:scare2: Now with my new turbo I can get dead off in it I havent seen anything above 1050 on the EGT.:rocking: the HY also has the 3" exhaust if you are going to continue running the little turbo get you a Banks power elbow so you can run a TRUE 4" exhaust.:tu:

My EGT's are never over 900. Maybe I have the wrong wire tapped. The VP is new so maybe the wires got turned around during install. I will also check the sub levels because I know they are not all on 5. Will get back
|
i dont think your comp is working right. :nope:
|
OK. I put all sub levels to 5. I checked the wire tap. It may have had a loose connection. The connectors were slightly corroded. I am able to get more smoke. I also noticed my EGT's shot up more so I backed her down. Seems to be working a little better now. My tranny is starting to slip pretty bad so I think I should get that fixed before adding any more HP. I think i'll try stacking with a smarty next. If thats not enough then prob bigger turbo. Then who knows. Thanks

Don't waste your money on a Smarty. You already have plenty of fuel. You need a Turbo.

My tap wire did that on my ADR also.... you should either RE tap it and fill the tap full of di-electric grease or even better would be to get one of the plates that mount on top the VP and tap it with a special screw. Those are sturdy and don't break loose like wire taps.

If you do choose to go with a Stealth Plate, which I also suggest, have a look a this:

So if I were to upgrade the turbo, what would be a good upgrade with my mods. Without breaking the bank of course. I'm reading alot about the hybrids.

Phat Shaft 62mm
