Need Opinions on Custom Intake Manifold for P-Pumped 24v
Ok guys we been toying around with a larger intake manifold for my pulling truck. The P-pump lines are hard to work around but I think we have it whipped.
Here are some pics while test fitting tonight. We more than doubled the output area of the manifold. It stall has a little work left to smooth it out before painting. Does it look good or bad? Just looking for opinions. http://inlinethumb61.webshots.com/50...500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb45.webshots.com/48...500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/48...500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb42.webshots.com/28...500x500Q85.jpg |
I think it looks great bud!

since you were making it why didn't you center the intake, or make it more like the banks setup for a 12v where it puts air to front and rear of the head?

Why not curve the edges of the box instead of making them square? The flow around corners like that with the sudden change in direction as it drops down into the stock manifold would make some WICKED turbulence at high flow volumes... This would most likley cause you uneven pressures or fuel mixing issues.
I always wondered why no one just took 6 curved pipes and tied them into one... Like a backwards header... Each pipe feeding a relative cylinder. |

Could you feed the manifold plate with multiple mandrel bent tubes?

Bend up some custom lines and make what you want...

It looks like the air could be turbulent in that intake. Seems a smooth radius is the way other intakes are being built. Smooth is harder to fabricate though. It looks like it will get the job done though! :choochoo:
