valve Bodies, what the difference over stock.
What I mean, what is done to a stock valve body to make it better. I've looked into getting a VB, and everybody seems to want the old one as a core. This tells me they are modifying the the stock VBs. What is being Modified? passages machined out? holes plugged up? I hate shelling money out for a part all because somebody tells me to change it. I am the type that wants to know why and understand what it is doing that makes it better.
So this is why I ask the guys in the know of these things. |
If you have some knowledge of a VB or know someone that does we offer a DTT VB Shift Kit.

Nobody selling them is going to tell you exactly what is done as that's what you are paying for. I built a # of them for Tony Garcin @ Dunrite 4 or 5 years ago. I can only say I drilled some holes, did some grinding on a valve or two, closed some holes, changed a spring or two and a couple other pretty important changes. I can also say several of the big guns in the tranny world do exactly the same as we did. Won't tell how I know that. I'm sure others do things differently.

A dremel and drill... That's about the only "specialty" tools you need for shift kit installation.

Yeah I can see charging for the work. A lot of guys that are working on their rigs don't have the tools and sources like I do. so if I can find out the correct specs to fix my own I will be doing so.
