Glowshift fuel gauge problem

I installed the glowshift fuel pressure gauge on my 01 cummins. It spiked pretty bad so i got a snubber valve installed and it stopped the spiking at start up, but now it pretty much pegs out during WOT. I know GS isnt the best, but its what I got. Anyone have ideas why this is still spiking

sending unit is bad, you'll need a new one. i went through 3 before my old truck got totaled and was actually going to have to get another. was waiting till later in the week to order it. the fuel senders don't hold up good. i had one go without a snubber and then the other 3 with snubber

its new. you think its bad out of the box? It works fine at idle. Just when I accelerate hard it pegs out.

My third one did that after two days. First two days worked good then 3rd started doing that then by the time my truck got hit it was back to spiking wherever. I had the sensor still on from my edge to verify and yeah the glow shift only worked for 2 days. If your set on that gauge I'd get another sender, then make it remotely mounted with a foot or few feet of tubing from the snubber to the sender. I think their senders may just be too sensitive. I had my edge on for over two years and it never skipped a beat or gave a weird reading.

are yall bolting it rite to the motor, because i have one and i remotely mounted it to my battery bracket soo it didnt vibrate so much!! 1/8" npt male with a 1/4" barb and 2' of 1/4" fuel line and another male with a coupling and screw in sending unit. i havent had trouble with mine since!!

Also when i called they said the rattle of the cummins shakes them up and they told me i should remotely mount it and they said they remotely mount them on all their company vehicles!! i hope it helps

Lol I put mine right into the pressure side of the pump never had an issue but there is far less vibration down there too There was a plug on it just took it out screwed the sender in done.

sorry clarify it was on my airdog installed them the same day pump and gauges.

I asked when I kept ordering new ones and they said not to remote mount which I thought sounded dumb if it kept going out. My edge was mounted to the filter housing no issues.

It was a bad sending unit. Its working fine now with the snubber. I mounted it to the bottom of the filter as the directions say. I had no idea of the probs that could occure with vibrations or without a snubber. Glowshift should specify if the sender should be mounted elsewhere and include the necessary hardware. Guess ya get what ya pay for.

Actually the thing is still spiking a little at WOT. I'll try mounting it somewhere else with the grease gun hose trick and see what happens.

get rid of it, those things are junk. i went thru 4 of them and decided this isnt worth it. hard mounted on the block loosely to keep vibrations out, and they all went bad after a week. not worth the headache, just spend some more and get a good one.

doesnt the comp box have a electric hook up for a sending unit like the ejwa?
